Well the time draws nearer for our departure...a week today! If we were doubting whether we should be doing this, we had our doubts erased yesterday as a winter blizzard came through Calgary, dropping the temperature to a very chilly -28 Celcius last night...UGH! All being well, ten days from now we'll be soaking up the sun on a Caribbean beach in Guatemala. Here are a couple of pictures ... one of the family on Christmas day and the other taken this morning behind our house.

This is the 2nd time I try to comment to your 11 Jan message. The 1st time I tried I got the message that I should open a Google account before being able to comment. So now I have a Google account. See if it works now!
My comment is basically the same as in my email: I very much envy you guys, which is easy as I live in Netherlands where we have today a massive storm with winds up to 130 km/h and lots of rain. Now is that worse than Calgary at -25 degr Celsius? Perhaps not but it is definitely worse than a Caribbean beach in Guatemala at +29 degr Celsius. Anyway, just want to say: have a safe and exciting trip. We'll be in touch.
