Australia Entry 3 - Some PIctures

On the way north to Cairns we stopped at a campground on this beach at Rollingstone near Townsville The pool at the campground was great and the weather was ok too ... sunny and 30 degrees!!

When the tide goes out there is a long flat stretch of sand to walk along.

The mouths of rivers from the tablelands in the background often make very picturesque scenes.

One of the two tropical pools at the Trinity Links where we will be spending June through August as our Cairns base.

An apartment block at Trinity Links.

North of Cairns...the beach at Port Douglas. It was still sunny at this point before two weeks of constant cloud and rain set in.

Looking south along the coast north of Cairns. This was the spot we watched a hang glider take off.

Looks like great fun!

South of Cairns..the beach at Mission Beach on a cloudy day.

Relaxing under a palm tree on Mission Beach.
The marina at Cairns. The city has done a wonderful job in recent times of developing the Esplanade along the sea front.

A residential area just near our apartment in Cairns.

The cane grows very high here. We came across many other stands even taller than this cane.

Cane field just outside Cairns.
