Lima and Iquitos en route to the Amazon

Our hotel in Lima - The Antigua MirafloresLima's Plaza de Armas ... the central square

The San Fransico church. The adjoining monastary contains the fascinating catacombs

The Miraflores coastline
Lunch at a restaurant along the cliffs. Quinoa soup and mixed ceviche, with the local softdrink, Inca Kola.

An amazing collection of thousands of Inca artifacts at the Museo Rafael Larco Herrera

The ancient pyramid temple of Huaca Huallamarca

The famous hairless Peruvian dog. Voted the world's ugliest dog, but actually kind of cute to our eye.
Paragliding at sunset from the cliffs of Miraflores

Some typical buildings lining the streets.

En route to Iquitos...the Amazon and endless jungle.

Our arrival at the airport in Iquitos

An "Iquitos Mosquito"

The nighttime streets of Iquitos were jammed with thousands of the noisy three-wheelers.The chruch in the main square across from our hotel, colorfully lit at night
The "greasy spoon" restaurant where Robb's GI problems are believed to have originated...(notice the hamburger sitting on the table)
Everything is transported by three-wheeler in Iquitos.

An early morning street scene
